We designed and furnished this 3 bedroom new build development in Kensington. Taking inspiration from the modern architectural detailing, we worked with a natural, textured, warm palette to give the space a welcoming, elegant, and contemporary feel. 

We provided a mix of bespoke items and pieces from reputable, well-known suppliers. We created the bespoke upholstery throughout the apartment, alongside special joinery pieces, the bedroom furniture, headboards, and dining table. Crafted luxury at its finest.

Luxury New Build Home

5,300sq ft luxurious new build property in North Hampshire, full interior architecture design, along with joinery and furniture design throughout. This property boasts seven fireplaces in total which were meticulously designed by Matthews Rea alongside the fireplace suppliers and building contractors. All flooring, decoration and soft furnishings were designed and selected for our clients. This project spanned the course of two years in total.


Matthews Rea designed the main living spaces of a luxury family home in the county of Hampshire. Taking in to consideration the everyday functionalities of family life, we proposed durable wallcoverings and fabrics, functional dining and comfortable surroundings, without compromising the luxurious feel. Producing a finishes, furnishings and fixtures schedule accompanied with CGI’s, our clients used their designed spaces to create their family home.


Matthews Rea designed and furnished this luxurious 14th floor apartment in the heart of Gunwharf Quays, Hampshire. Most of the furniture was custom designed and delivered within a tight turnaround. A full turn key service was provided for our international client.


This grand scale refurbishment entailed a full interior architecture, design, procurement and installation service over the course of 12 months. Working alongside specialist contractors, we designed over 25 areas of bespoke joinery, 5 unique bathrooms and assisted with the home cinema design. The luxurious entrance, entertainment space, living and dining areas, bedrooms and study, was influenced by our client’s travels. This project was delivered within budget and on time whilst maintaining the upmost attention to detail, to fulfill our clients dream home.


Matthews Rea were approached by a family who were relocating from the South of France and therefore wished to dress their luxury villa for marketing purposes. The design needed to reflect the villa’s stunning location with views over St Tropez marina. Given the location of this project and tight time frame, the co-ordination of this project was paramount to a successful delivery. The scope included custom made furniture and luxury accessories that were transported to the South of France and installed by our team. From the first point of client contact to final handover was a total of 10 weeks.


4,500sq ft renovation project, directly on the prestigious Whitstable, beachfront, Kent. Full interior architecture design of open plan, Ground Floor Living space and numerous bathrooms. Full decoration schedule and specification of FF&E.


Matthews Rea were appointed to design the interiors of this 14,000sq ft renovation project on the South Coast of England. The project entailed a full joinery package, including designs for the dressing rooms, bespoke vanities, home bar, media room, study and gym. All seven bathrooms/en-suites were designed with finishes selected to compliment the adjoining bedrooms.

The Ocean Rooms Beauty, Ocean Village Marina, Southampton

Matthews Rea were asked to fully design and project manage this Marina-fronted Beauty Salon. The brand new 3,000 sq ft., breeze block, concrete based unit was spatially designed to incorporate five treatment rooms, office, staff room, wc, and plant room. The brief was to create a monochrome scheme with a high end, luxury feel. Inspiration was taken from Art Deco design and classic Couture fashion houses to deliver a timeless and glamorous design.


A long established family friendly bar and restaurant, which required a full refurbishment. Lauren was asked to offer a contemporary design solution to the dated décor. Creating banquette seating to the east elevation allowed more covers and general comfortable seating which is great for families and groups.

The framed ‘cloud’ prints above the banquettes hint to the restaurant’s name and the newly created lobby eliminates the incoming ‘breeze’ from the marina on which the restaurant is situated!


Matthews Rea was asked to design a 28,600sq ft leisure complex situated at Island Harbour Marina on the Isle of Wight. The waterfront complex consists of an indoor swimming pool, spa and tapas bar with rooftop bar and outdoor cinema.


We were asked to furnish this luxury penthouse apartment in Southampton’s prestigious Ocean Village Marina. With professional couples being the target buyers, we sourced furniture and bespoke upholstered items to convert the empty apartment into a cosy, liveable home. The turnaround from conception to completion took just 6 weeks and the property sold just days after being completed.
