Matthews Rea is an award-winning interior design studio based on Portsmouth Road in Cobham. We have worked from the town since the practice was founded, and a good proportion of the homes we design sit within a few miles of the studio, across Cobham, Oxshott, Stoke d’Abernon and the surrounding villages.

Cobham properties vary enormously. We work on substantial family houses on the private estates, period homes in the older part of the village, and contemporary new builds where the interior is being specified from a bare shell. Each calls for a different approach, so we begin every project by understanding the building itself before anything else is decided.
Our work covers interior architecture and design, technical drawings, full furniture, fixtures and equipment, bespoke joinery, custom furniture design and procurement. Clients are involved at every stage, from the first meeting through to the day the final piece is installed.

Being based in Cobham is practical rather than sentimental. We can be on site within minutes when a decision is needed in person, we understand the local planning context, and we have long standing relationships with joiners, decorators and contractors across Surrey who we trust to deliver to our standard.
It also means clients can visit us. Samples, finishes and fabrics are far easier to judge in person than on a screen, and we encourage clients to come to the studio during the specification stage.
